A new chapter for culinary education in Cluj-Napoca
One of the schools will be located in Cluj-Napoca, a city known for its growing hospitality scene. Recently, Breasla Bucătarilor proudly introduced the upcoming school at a local event, welcoming distinguished guests such as Cluj's Mayor Emil Boc and Ștefan Gadola, President of the Restaurant Association. Their presence highlights the importance of this initiative for the local hospitality industry.

Train-the-trainer: Laying the foundation for excellence
Before the grand opening, our esteemed certified culinary trainers in Romania are continuing their own journey with us to become GSL Certified Culinary Trainers—Professional Level. Their training will ensure that students receive top-tier instruction at the new Romanian schools, which blends Swiss expertise with local culinary traditions. The power of the train-the-trainer program lies in the trainers ability to teach GSL’s content but also to localize it when needed. Their local expertise ensures the content is relevant and applicable for local students.

Meet our local partner: Marius at Breasla Bucatarilor
One of the driving forces behind this project is Marius C., a veteran of the wine industry with 30 years of experience. His passion for wine and gastronomy led him to envision a culinary school that would elevate Romania’s food and hospitality sector.
"Romania has great potential for tourism, and we can boost that with top-quality services. By learning from Switzerland and setting up a culinary school supported by Global Swiss Learning, I believe we can really make a difference."

Marius was inspired after visiting a renowned culinary school in Italy. Witnessing how proper education can transform a country’s hospitality industry, he set out to create a similar opportunity in Romania.
"We have a few culinary schools in Romania, but I truly believe that Global Swiss Learning's approach is exactly what we need to succeed."
Impact on the industry
The launch of these new culinary schools is expected to make a significant impact on Romania’s hospitality, tourism, and restaurant sectors. By elevating the standard of culinary education, these institutions will help shape the future of the country’s gastronomic and tourism landscape. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare for the grand opening in late Summer 2025.
