We would like to thank the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for hosting this week’s Online Panel Discussion on “How is the Swiss Education sector adapting to meet the Future of Work.”
The panel, with participants as diverse as the Swiss Education System itself, pointed out how Switzerland is in a powerful position to offer education to international students. Today the global gap in high-quality vocational education is more visible than ever. In this ever-changing environment, the disruption of the traditional model is driven by cost, availability, quality, and the deep wish of students to choose when and where they want to access education.
The shift to digital has been there long before the pandemic. Covid-19 only accelerated the existing trend. It raised the perception that digital education will evolve and requires educators to embrace the newly available technologies. The panel agreed that online content will be an essential part of the future but must be delivered attractively and actively involve students. At the same time, the participants explained the importance of traditional classroom teaching as it will cater to competencies like social or emotional skills of students. They were in agreement with regard to the necessity to blend traditional classroom teaching and online course content.
This is exactly where Global Swiss Learning has positioned its courses, with up to 70% online delivery of theory and practice. In partnerships with the best Swiss vocational schools, we are making high-quality blended learning courses available to our foreign partner institutes. Plug & play!
